Mad Mike team recap on win at Formula Drift Ebisu, Japan 2016
“Winning at Ebisu was like nothing else, to go door to door with some of my inspirational drift racers out of Japan and take the win was amazing. It was such a team effort, everything came together today, we were focused and on point.”
Ebisu is the home of drift for Japan and it’s an honour to be competing here against some of the drivers who inspired me, on their home soil.
Kawato san and his team from TCP Magic did a great job preparing the car, it felt super strong and responsive. The RX7 chassis feels like an extension of my body when I drive it, it’s a chassis I have been driving since the beginning of my career.
I’m so proud to represent TCP Magic and put them onto the top step of the podium. Huge thanks to Kawato san and his team and also Toni and JT for being a massive part of us being able to accomplish this win.
Arigato Gozaimas to Robbie Nishida, Shane, Andy Gray and everyone else in Osaka, Tokyo and Ebisu who helped out in some way.

Wayne Keeber’s British Drift Championship 2016 Round 2 Review
The track layout at Driftland was awesome and allowed for some close twinning and having the concrete wall to rub was added bonus. Seeing the track layout I thought the Soarer might struggle with it being a technical track it actually worked really well.
British Drift Championship 2016 – Round 2: Driftland
Round 2 of the British Drift Championship headed north of the border and into Scotland but not to its almost traditional round at Knockhill, this time it was over to Driftland for the first professional competition event at the track.
