Our second car feature from Ireland is David Garvey’s AE86.
Car: Toyota AE86
Engine: SR20 with a full rebuild, oversized Wiseco pistons, HKS 1.2 mm head gasket, ported and polished. ACL head bolts and bottom end bearings, Garret 2871R turbo with all braided hoses, 4 branch manifold, Z32 airflow, 550cc injectors, uprated fuel pump & Apexi air filter. New alloy radiator, front mount intercooler with custom 1 piece pipes, the front of car has been tubed.
Horsepower: 355 BHP, mapped by West Coast Performance at 1.3 bar.
Drivetrain: 300zx gearbox with adapter plate for SR engines. Exedy twin plate clutch, Vennett back axle, 300zx rear brakes discs and callipers, grooved discs on front, 4 link equal length arms, 1 piece prop shaft.
Suspension: Full custom front arms with adjustable wishbones, TRD front coilovers, DMax rear coilovers, suspension set up by Martin Ffrench.
Interior: Full weld in cage with extra bars to front struts done by GripFab, wider tunnel to fit bigger gearbox also by GripFab, Apexi Power FC ECU, Greddy E01 boost controller, Apexi gauges for oil tempreature & pressure, fuel pressure, exhaust temp, water temp, boost gauge and Rev gauge. Custom wiring loom, kill switches inside and out, custom centre console with fuse box and fan, fuel pump and ignition on switches, hydraulic handbrake, Bride buckets seats with harness, battery relocated to behind the passengers seat in FIA approved battery box.
Exterior: Full BN sports bodykit, j.blood rear wide arches, DMax front wide arches, fibreglass vented bonnet wrapped in carbon, fibreglass headlights covers not fitted yet, custom high rise spoiler & lightweight windows.
Wheels: Rota Grid V in 15×9″
The car has now gone to its new owner and David will be driving his new PS13 next year, keep an eye out for our shoot on that once its ready.
