17th Annual Thunder On The Lot Drift Demo

This past weekend the 17th annual Thunder on the Lot was held at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds. Among the many features were the Bike Show, Classic Car Show, Modified Imports, Dirt Track Racing and the crowd favorite: Drifting.

This was the second year drifting was showcased and the stands were packed with both drifting fans and people who had never seen it before. The event was organized by local Palmdale Drifter Mickie Frial, who has been a Top Drift fixture since the beginning. He is the 2009 Top Drift Battle Co-Champion along with Mike Bolanos of Just Drift, and has held a Formula D License twice.

Throughout both days spectators were given the opportunity to go for Ride-Alongs with their favorite drifters for the fee of a donation to the Kid’s Charities of the Antelope Valley. The lines were long, the grins were big and a lot of money was raised for a good cause. Follow the links to the galleries from day 1 and day 2.

Mickie would like to thank all of the participants and staff, especially Ron Emard, Jeff Bayard, Jason Sieroty, Mario Partida, Derrick Labossiere and Jeremy Kennedy for their commitment to this event.
He would also like to personally thank all of the drivers for coming out and putting on a great show for the children.
