Patrick Mordaunt severs ties with International Allstars
July 22, 2008 (Playa del Rey, Calif.) – With immediate effect, Patrick Mordaunt is ending his association with the International Allstars.
Mordaunt had served as a driver on the Allstars / Mazda Drift Team, and was one of the team’s drivers during the Formula Team Drift competition held during the Long Beach Grand Prix in April, where he teamed with Johnny Kanavas and Kyle Mohan to finish the competition in fourth.
However, since that time, Allstars management has failed to deliver on its commitments to provide promotion, exposure, or reasonably prepared vehicles for the team’s drivers, and has misrepresented the team’s plans for future driving events in an effort to mislead the drivers. The consistent unprofessional behavior of Allstars management has led Mordaunt to leave the team.
“First of all, I would like to thank all of the team’s drivers and sponsors whom I have grown close to during my association with the team,” said Mordaunt. “They have been great to work with, and I have enjoyed the chance to represent Mazda, Lucas Oil, and Cooper Tires while driving the MX-5.
“However, I am not comfortable continuing to be associated with the Allstars given their unprofessional behavior to their drivers. I was informed that my driving duties with the team may be revoked because I have not brought sponsors to the Allstars’ program, which was the last straw for me. I will now focus solely on the final remaining rounds of the Formula Drift Pro Championship.”
Mordaunt will now focus on the upcoming Formula Drift Pro Championship event in Evergreen, Washington, in his PMRacing / RiceBoyTV.com Nissan S14.
