Well the 2013 Formula D Series is in the books and boy was it an amazing year. FD celebrated it’s 10 year of competition at the House of Drift Irwindale Speedway on October 11-12 to yet another sold out crowd. Michael Essa was able to carry on his momentum from Rd.6 in Texas and take the #1 Qualifying spot and adding much more points to his championship lead.
Knockout qualifying is always and exciting and eventful time. From top drivers missing top 32 spot or a up and coming driver clinching themselves a spot in top 16 position to be one and done. Well this day 2 drivers were pushing them self to the limit. Chris Jeanneret (above) was the first to have the K-rail bite back and flip his car during practice Friday morning.
And then During his second Qualifying run Victor Moore (Below) also got a piece of the K-rail sending him for one crazy ride. Never good seeing a car crash like this but very glad all drivers were ok.
Dean Kearney was able to make it to top 16 and make it all the way to great 8 and show he has finally gotten a handle on his viper
Daigo Saito would end up facing Tyler McQuarrie in the finals. McQuarrie would end up backing his Camaro into the inside bank wall handing Saito the win and moving him up into 3 position in the points.
