Mad Mike team recap on win at Formula Drift Ebisu, Japan 2016
“Winning at Ebisu was like nothing else, to go door to door with some of my inspirational drift racers out of Japan and take the win was amazing. It was such a team effort, everything came together today, we were focused and on point.”
Ebisu is the home of drift for Japan and it’s an honour to be competing here against some of the drivers who inspired me, on their home soil.
Kawato san and his team from TCP Magic did a great job preparing the car, it felt super strong and responsive. The RX7 chassis feels like an extension of my body when I drive it, it’s a chassis I have been driving since the beginning of my career.
I’m so proud to represent TCP Magic and put them onto the top step of the podium. Huge thanks to Kawato san and his team and also Toni and JT for being a massive part of us being able to accomplish this win.
Arigato Gozaimas to Robbie Nishida, Shane, Andy Gray and everyone else in Osaka, Tokyo and Ebisu who helped out in some way.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., August 8, 2016 – Hankook Tire driver Chris Forsberg is the undisputed points leader following his fifth consecutive podium finish this past weekend at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash. Forsberg’s historic run includes three consecutive second place finishes and five consecutive podium finishes, placing him atop the highly competitive Formula Drift leaderboard for the 2016 season.
Dry track conditions and varied temperatures led to a high-speed event in front of a sold out crowd at Evergreen Speedway, about 30 miles outside of Seattle. Forsberg, racing in his signature Hankook Tire/Nissan 370Z, battled his way to a third consecutive finals showdown after beating out Matt Coffman in the semi-finals. The two-time champion is feeling very confident following his consistent run over the last few months.
