My favorite stop on the Formula Drift circuit has to be Evergreen Speedway (: Only FD track I have been to. And only track I’ve seen an FD event at. But I like the high speed and intensity of FD Seattle, it gets crazy.
I’m going to be slightly biased, but my favorite round of Formula D is the one that stops right here on the burbs of Seattle in Monroe, WA.
Every year the announcer tells us how we are the most energetic crowd out of all the stops and I believe him. The crowd always gets really into it and the support for drifting up at Evergreen is fantastic. The high speed bank is tricky but always awesome to watch.
It’s also the track that has harbored many of the PNW drifters, so it’s wild to see all these F1 drifters driving on the same track that I do. With Walker Wilkerson out there tearing it up and representing the PNW I’m sure the crowd is going to go nuts. I can’t wait for the next event.
I think Evergreen Speedway is the best not only because it’s my home track, but because the 5/8ths bank is insane! I love the amount of speed the drivers get when the pull into the power alley trusting their car and skill to get them into the next left hander without flying off the track! Good times, I’m super stoked for FD to be coming in 2 weeks!
My favorite Formula D stop is Road Atlanta because it is fast at the start at then follows upward toward the technical lollipop. It’s always a beautiful sight when you watch the drivers give it all for a reverse entry at high speeds. For example, Conrad Grunewald was just throwing his Camaro into the first clip aggressively and same with Matt Powers battling DMac with door to door action. Though one stop I’ll love out of Formula D was there Middle East event in Any Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit. The drivers drove hard and when it came to the final battle between Aasbo and Forsberg limits were pushed as we saw contact was involved, but the judges let it be and that made me proud to see a little rubbin is never bad and just keep pushing on. Whether I’m on the track in two weeks or watching it on Driftstream, it’ll always be a good time and full of fun.
The best event in Formula D is certainly Wall, New Jersey. That first entry makes for super gnarly crashing, and the harsh transition off the bank adds difficulty. Evergreen looks cool too, I’d love to check it out.
I personally never had the chance to attend Formula Drift but this will be my first year =) I have always herd the our Evergreen track is the best and loud crowds with awesome drifters. I’m really going to take this as the best experience.
Finally the race is close, its so exciting to see it from such close distance. They are giving away few free tickets also. http://bit.ly/fdVYeC
