Posted on August 11, 2023 by Toxic

EVENT DETAILS

Date: Friday, August 11, 2023

Location: Evergreen Speedway, Monroe, WA

Event: Formula DRIFT PRO Championship Round 6: Throw Down

RESULTS FROM FD PRO QUALIFYING

1.   Matt Field (USA) – Borla Performance / GT Radial Corvette

2.   Aurimas Bakchis (Lithuania) – Feal Suspension / GT Radial Nissan S15

3.   Simen Olsen (Norway) – Feal Suspension Nissan S14.9

NOTES – PRO

  • Despite sitting second in the 2023 FD PRO Championship, Field hasn’t dominated K&N Qualifying until arriving in Seattle where his 91.6-point score put him first. And with only 30 drivers qualifying, Field earned a bye run through the Top 32 competition heats
  • Bringing tremendous momentum from Round 5, Team Feal drivers Bakchis and Olsen qualified second and third after finishing first and third in St Louis. Scoring 90 and 89.3 points, respectively, Bakchis also received a bye run while Olsen will meet Forrest Wang (USA) in the Top 32
  • Fourth place Travis Reeder (USA) had his best qualifying result of the year in the Nicalis Inc / Travis Reeder Motorsports BMW M3, scoring 88.3 points
  • FD PRO Championship points leader Fredric Aasbo (Norway) qualified fifth in the Rockstar Energy Toyota GR Supra with a score of 87.3 points
  • Perhaps the most anticipated Top 32 pairing will see double FD PRO Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr (USA) in the Monster Energy Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD face Ryan Tuerck (USA) in the Rain-X / Nitto Tire / Rockstar Energy GR Corolla. Both are hard chargers from the “no prisoners” school of drift. Fireworks are guaranteed
  • Following technical issues for several teams, 30 drivers attempted to qualify for the Top 32 competition places, resulting in bye runs for the top qualifiers
