This Past Thursday some of the Just Drift crew were out at the Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center to help hand out some toys to kids from the pediatric oncology Department. The event was Held in conjunction with the CHP and there Chips for Kids program.
Thanks to local business like Walgreens and the support from Just Drift and their two Toy Drift events, the CHP was able to raise a very generous amount of toys for the kids.
Children at the event were able to decorate Christmas cookies, get their faces painted and even get to get their pictures taken with Santa and Miss Claus.
Children were then able to picture two gifts from the toy room and given a stocking. It was so wonderful to see the smiles on all the kids’ faces. Knowing that these kids have gone thru so much in their life’s so far.
Most Kids at the event were ones that have been thru there battle with Cancer and are survivors. But those still in treatment and who will be are not forgotten. They will receive their toys latter on that day. And all other toys will be taken to the Hospitals toy room where they will be given to the kids as they finish their chemotherapy or during to help them get through this scary painful time.
The entire day was a Blast. All the kids had a amazing time and we got a chance to give back and stop and take a look at our self’s and be thankful for the small things in life. In closing I would like to thank everyone how came out to the events and donated to such a wonderful program. Thank you all, and Happy Holidays.
