Dai Yoshihara spins when following Taka Aono, and Taka moves on. That’s 3 consecutive events that Dai has been out in top 32.
Eric O’Sullivan lost drift when following Pat Mordaunt, and Pat moves on.
Jeff Jones had a slight mistake, and Darren McNamara is able to move on.
Ryuji Miki and Michihiro Takatori are going One-More-Time! 5 minute rule for tire change… but Miki has too much for Takatori and moves on.
John Wagner spins out, and Sam Hubinette moves on
Verdier vs Tony B – Verdier slames into the guard rail when leading, and there’s car parts all over the track! Verdier drives back to the pits to try and fix it, but the car looks a bit rough… 5 minute rule… but he can’t get it fixed in time, Tony B moves on.
Tyler McQuarrie takes out Chris Kregorian, and continues his great run at Wall. The V8-powered 350Z looks on point!
Yamanaka vs Waldin – 2 great runs from both drivers, these guys are very equally matched! Yamanaka moves on by a narrow margin
Pawlak vs Wan – Wonder what Wan thinks of Pawlak’s new car, since he’s a former Rotary driver – Wan was low on the bank when following, but had a huge gap when leading – these guys are going One-More-Time! Both drivers go all-out again, and we’re going OMT again! This is the last set of runs… they’re very very close, but Pawlak moves on! Best runs of top 32 so far!
Forsberg vs VanDenBrink – VanDenBrink picked up Streetwise as a sponsor for this event, have to give them a special thanks for helping DVDB get here. Forsberg was all over VDB when following, and moves on… setting up a DA showdown with Pawlak in the next round.
Millen vs Ewerth – Ewerth’s car looks amazing with the Maziora paint, but Rhys Millen traces the guard rail with his back bumper and has a GREAT run when leading, and stays inches from Ewerth’s bumper when following to move on.
Nishida vs Mohan – Mohan spins when following, giving Nishida the pass into the 2nd round
Vaughn Gittin Jr vs Tommy Suell – Tommy loses a lot of speed off the transition when leading, and spins when following… JR moves on.
Last tandem of the round – Tuerck vs Maeng -Maeng is giving the points leader a run for his money at Tuerck’s home track! Tuerck is hot on Maeng’s bumper when following, but doesn’t have enough… Maeng moves on! What a huge upset!
