Bigger, faster, louder, that’s all about Hungary, each time King of Europe make a stop there, we discover faster and better drifters!!! the level went from nothing to top european level in few years. Without a doubt, one Hungarian drifter will take the win of our championship sooner or later…
Even with the baddest forecast you can imagine, thanks god once again the forecast was wrong and we got dry and sunny weather all week-end…. The Kakucs Ring is a new place for the KOE Series, not that big but very technical track which will offer for sure very hot battles!
Let’s talk about the race and the qualification, it was no surprize to see the bulgarian rookie Todor Dunev with his yellow nissan S13 to take #1 ranking in qualification, his drifting skills “alone” are really amazing but we’ll see later in the afternoon that inside the tsuiso jungle, he still have to practice a bit but believe me this guy is going to be the one to beat very soon…
Another strong man in the KOE Series is Zoltan Lakatos running the white M3 pickup V8 Kompressor, Zoltan aka Laky Boy is back in business this week-end after a “bad” round 1, with #4 qualify ranking behind Adam Kerenyi ranked #2. Even if Adam is still the #1 favorite for this round with the red BMW E36 M3, he has to worry about Zoltan 😉
Young drifter like Sandor Levota running underpowered but very lightweight BMW E30 went over some difficult battles. Furthermore, Sandor fought his way through Papp Peter and Todor Dunew to make it to the final four. Unfortunately, Sandor was stopped in semi-final then took the overall 4th place this week-end.
Another surprize was to see Nobert Kovacik, Niki Szanto, Carola Mecan and Nicolas Heyer stopped too early during these final battles. We can’t wait to see them striking back in Spain for our round 3.
The semi-final battle between Lakatos and Levota was a bit like David vs Goliath and this time the Goliath M3 V8 Kompressor made the win and its way to join Kerenyi in final.
And in this final battle, Kerenyi took the win over Lakatos due to first corner minor mistakes, anyway once again Adam was showing very high skills during the whole top16. This is the second win for Adam Kerenyi keeping the lead of the championship, followed now by Zoltan Lakatos and best rookie of the year, Todor Dunev.
See you in Spain for the round 3!
