We shot this car feature way back in June during King Of Europe Round 3 at Lydden Hill in Kent, so we figure its about time we show you Steven Donnelly’s Toyota Soarer.
It runs around 550BHP and 476ft/lb Torque from its 1JZ-GTE 2.5 liter 6 cylinder engine and a Garrett GTX3076R Turbo with twin steel ball bearing internals.
The engine also boasts a huge list of modifications including a 50mm Tial External Wastegate, Mishimoto 50mm Radiator, Mishimoto Intercooler, Turbosmart Race Port Dump Valve, Upgraded Inlet Plenum and 100mm Custom Throttle Body, 1000cc Injector Dynamics Top Feed Fuel Injectors, Superspark (Red) Coilpacks, Twin Bosch 044 Fuel Pumps with Swirl Pot, Sytec Manual Fuel Pressure Regulator & Sytec Race Fuel Filter.
The engine management is handled by a Link G4+ Xtreme ECU with Race Technology Dash2.
An ACT HD/RACE 6 PUK Sprung Clutch and V161 6 Speed Manual Gearbox Conversion ensure that the power is there for every clutch kick & Custom BC Coilovers make it easy to adjust the setup of the car to ensure maximum grip.
The car has an EPRacing body kit with 50mm rear over fenders,
a Top Secret wing,
Carbon bonnet, carbon wrap roof and boot.
Its running on ROTA GTR Wheels with UK Spec Twin Turbo Supra Brakes.
The interior is stripped of everything that isn’t essential before fitting custom Cobra Imola Pro Bucket Seats & a Fabricage bolt in roll cage. The dash has been replaced with a custom CNC’d dash and tunnel cover plate.
The car has been built to an excellent standard which wouldnt have been possible without his sponsors, Diemax Engineering Ltd, Link Engine Management, Dyna Tune Ltd, Cobra Seats, SuperPro Suspension Bushes, Rota Wheels UK, Nankang Tyres & SATS Motorsport.
Steven and his car are a very competitive combination taking 1st place in the Semi-Pro class at Teesside for Round 3 of the British Drift Championship, before finishing the year in 2nd place. 2015 will see Steven in a new car, we look forward to seeing the finished car at Round 1, until then we will leave you with more photos from the shoot.
