Battlemania was run at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park over the weekend on Sunday 14th of February 2016.
With 150 drift battles scheduled for the day and 30 drivers competing for the trophies on hand. There was plenty of action for the drivers and spectators alike.
With the increased interest in this event both nationally and internationally Battlemania had the privilege of hosting two top international drivers, Levi Clarke from Australia and Danielle Murphy from Ireland.
After a full morning of qualifying battles the field was split into three pools for the final battles. Nico Reid topped the qualifying sheets.
The overall Battlemania champion who won the Gold pool was Drew Donovan, Tauranga in his Milwaukee sponsored LS15 Nissan Silvia ahead of Adam Davies, Tauranga in second place and Nico Reid, Auckland in third.
Silver Pool winner was Michael Thorley, Auckland followed by Vincent Hopkins, Tauranga and Neil Walmsley, Christchurch.
The bronze pool was taken out by Jaron Olivecrona, Fielding followed by the international superstars Levi Clarke, Australia in second and Danielle Murphy, Ireland in third.
The Exedy drift Team (Levi Clarke) from Australia alongside Wanganui Race mechanic Tony Stewart took out the best team of the competition award.
