One cold morning in January saw us head over to Birmingham Wheels for the Drift Outlaws Seeded Day. It was a chance for drivers to prove themselves not just as skilled drifters but as entertainers with the best getting access to the coming season of Drift Outlaws events.
The early morning sun was hanging low over the paddock as we took a look around at the great selection of cars.
As the track sessions kicked off the drivers would be on showing their skills at low speed technical tests before moving on to running a judged line around the oval.
Aurimas Vaškelis had everyone applauding him after running the walls for as much of his runs as possible, it wasn’t even a requirement of the track layout, just something he wanted to do. That’s the level of showmanship that the championship enjoys having in its driver line up.
As the day progressed more and more drivers we showing how they could bring something to the events in fast, consistent runs.
We soon spotted a couple of cars that were a bit different to bring you guys a closer look at, the first was Trevor Fileman’s SR20 powered E30, which we have already shown you.
The second is David Deividas’ V12 powered BMW E34, this feature will be out soon but we couldn’t leave his car out of this article, not after he drove well on every run. Despite several issues throughout the day he always made it back onto the track to continue to show his driving talent.
After a short break the drivers were released in pairs onto another layout around the oval to practice their lead and chase skills, this continued in to the night as we came away from the track.
Enjoy some more photos from the event and you can be sure that we will be bringing you more content from this championship later this year!
