Another year of Formula D action is In the books and it was all caped out with the Final Round out at Irwindale Speedway for it’s last professional drifting event before it closes next year. Irwindale has always been able to bring the very best out of drivers and deliver an amazing show and this year sure didn’t disappoint.
James Deane qualified 3 all but securing his Championship. All Dean would have to do is cross the Start finish line in top32 and the 2017 Formula D Championship would be his.
One of the Highlights of the nights qualifying was Chris Forsberg Lighting up the rear tire’s Back to The Future style.
Chelse Denofa was able to take the top Spot and take the #1 Spot during Qualifying with a score of 98

Along with this being the final Round at Irwindale, it would also be the last time we will get to see Robbie Bushido Blade Nishida compete in the Formula D Series. We wish him the very best of luck on his new adventures. Thanks for all the wonderful memories Robbie.
Earning a bye run in the top 32 Deane was able to put down a very nice single run to celebrate him clinching the Championship and to top it off Deane was also celebrating his Birthday so he provided the crowd with a little smoke show burnout at the end of his run.
Piotr Wiecek was sure a man on a mission the entire weekend. Time after time throwing down some amazing runs. He would meet past champ Daijiro Yoshihara in the finals.
Pitor would end besting Dai and taking his First win of the Year and also having the privilege of saying he was the last To win FD Event at the speedway.
