Fast and Furious Live has been touring the since the start of the year with shows across Europe but mainly within the UK so far. We headed along to the Sheffield FlyDSA Arena to check it out before it heads out on a wider tour.
The show features live action recreations of all of your favourite scenes from the movie franchise executed with digital projection onto a screen and the arena floor with a good mix of explosions, fire and special effects.
Fan participation is strong throughout the show with a storyline brought to life as fans vote on how to build their own hero car which appears later in the show.
The number of vehicles in the show is really impressive too, there is everything from Brian’s Supra from the first movie along with the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Dom’s Charger.
The scenes from the movies transferred well into live action with the Tokyo Drift Car Park standing out as one of our favourites. D.K’s 350z and Han’s S15 drifting through the car park pillars as the digital projection handles the feeling that the cars are moving up through the floors of the car park.
The opening racing scene from 2Fast2Furious is another that is really impressive in the show, all of the cars line up with a projection of a neon Miami backdrop before the lights dim. The cars illuminate with thousands of LEDs on each car, bringing them to life in their liveries from the movie.
An inch perfect precision driving display follows before the cars change to display scenes from the movie.
We had the chance to look around behind the scenes after the show and its impressive how all it is achieved, it’s the little details really add to the experience.
We will leave it there so that we don’t reveal too much of the show as we think you should check it out for yourselves when it tours locally to you in the near future! For more info visit – Fast & Furious Live, until then here are a few more photos from the show.
A huge thanks to the Fast & Furious Live crew for making this possible!
