Well Rd.1 is in the books and what an amazing event it was. 2013 Champ Michael Essa was on point and out show that he is ready to defend his championship by Qualifying #1 for the event. Essa would make it all the way to to the top 4 where he was eliminated by Kenney Moen who was the surprise of the entire event. The entire weekend Moen was throwing down some amazing runs. Moen would take on Chris Forsberg in the finals. Forsberg would would put down two dominating run and take the win. Essa would take 3rd place dude to his higher qualifying position since the consolation round has been eliminated this year. This year looks to be yet another amazing year of competition. Now the Series is off to Road Atlanta for Round 2 and we have you chance to win tickets.

Forsberg is my favorite. He has a certain feel to his drifting. Is so smooth but aggressive at the same time. It’s insane watching how close he gets to the wall while keeping up insane speed and angle. I am also in love with the Z. I’m an ameture drifter from Lexington Kentucky who is trying to work my way to the pro status. Definitely not an easy task considering drifting isn’t very well liked here :/ But no matter the odds I will make it no matter what. I pay for everything out of my own pocket and work a part time job that only pays me $100 every two weeks ad I am a full time student at the University of Kentucky. I have to work odd jobs just to be able to get a few used tires and enough gas to compete. But anyways I would be extremely great fil just to get the chance to attend a Formula drift event ad just see the pros throwing smoke! Thank you.
Kenneth Moen is my favorite. He was the underdog in formula d because he had all the talent and skill but unfortunately was stuck with a team who built horrible cars for him and didn’t know what they were doing and were very unprofessional, which didn’t allow for Kenneth to perform at his best. He is one of the best drifters in Europe and has many trophy’s to prove it. He is now with Achilles tire and bridges racing who has built Kenny’s new car how wants and needs it to perform his best. His new car has a 2jz, its a s chassis and has wisefab and feal suspension which kenny knows best. Now he is performing his best and at long beach and motegi super drift he finished 2nd place in a row with almost identical events. He has the most angle of all the formula d drivers and has the fastest car in formula d without having the highest horsepower proving the horsepower wars is nonsense. When given the right car and right team Kenneth is unstoppable.
Danny George is one of my favorite drivers. Even though he may not be the top runner he still gives it his all each and every time he is in competition. He also is one of the most laid back and chilliest drivers in competition and I love the fact that he still finds way to bring humor to a serious sport. I would love to see him take a podium at one of the rounds and what better place then in my home state of Georgia! Also I am proof that girls can like formula drift and I would love to eventually see a girls Formula drift competition!
My favorite is Matt Field. I love his car and his hard changing, zero f*cks given attitude. He has a great mindset and is always poised to make a run at the podium.
I would say that Danny George is my favorite driver in FD. I started cheering for George when I found out he started was funding his program basically though the fans and because of that he has this love for all his fans that not too many people, not only in drifting have, but also in any competitive automotive sport.George is the ideal image of a grassroots driver trying to make it in the pros. He shows that without the big money coming in there is a way to make it. It may not have all the big fancy equipment but it still gets you to the track. He seems so down to Earth. He has no problems answering any questions and taking time to talk directly to the people who help support him. This is very apparent in the various social media outlets that he is active in. He rewards his fans/supporters with packages that from t shirts to their own personal picture on his car and trailer. That is just awesome.Sure his car is not making 1,000+ horsepower, has the latest “it” aero, or is even a popular chassis to drift in the series. But with all that he has going against him makes him that much more determined to prove a lot of people wrong and not be a jerk when doing it. And that is why he is my favorite drifter for Formula D
Danny George is my favorite driver in formula d because he is so down to earth and does it all for the fans and not the sponsors and all that corporate bs.
My favorite driver is Dai Yoshihara. I have been cheering for him since I first saw him drift at Road Atlanta in 2006 – my first year at Formula D; unfortunately I missed the first couple of years… Dai was wicked on entries into the first turn and I like his incredible angles and his willingness to “hang it all out there” and push his cars to the edge of insanity. That and the fact that he took a lot of direction and learning from one of the greats – Rhys Millen – shows that he is always willing to learn and improve.
This will be my 9th year at Formula Drift @ Road Atlanta and whether I win the free tickets or not I WILL STILL BE THERE to cheer Dai and all the other drivers on! I love Formula Drift and the passion that Atlanta has for the sport!!!
My excitement for FormulaD was already at 110%, so when Daigo Saito came to FormulaD to compete, my excitement jumped off the radar.
After having the privilege of absorbing Daigo from up close and personal and from a competitive perspective. i notice he has a poise about him that is so unique. No matter what his positioning is …whether it is 1st place or 24th place, his temperament is always the same …he always appear to be calm and relaxed. i am intensely fascinated with his aggressive driving style, his strategy, his focus, and drive to win. He is sooo very humble and polite. He puts on an excellent show. He surely lets everyone know he is there!
Daigo is a driver that knows how to get in there and change the game to his advantage.
How does he do it? i dont know. But i love it and will continue to cheer for him!
i never underestimate the power of “The Ninja”
