Today at the Formula D-Day. Tony Angelo was announced as the new judge, replacing Ken Takahashi for the 2009 season of Formula Drift. Tony, a Drift Alliance member and formerly driving a Mazda rx8 on Maxxis tires. As well as as being now a former driver of Formula Drift will begin judging at next weeks round 1 in Long Beach. We wish him the best in his transition and will keep you posted on any further updates.

DRIFT ALLIANCE ACES MOVING UP TO THE PROS WITH MAXXIS
Stepping up to the big leagues for the 2009 season are Drift Alliance Aces Brian Wilkerson and John Wagner, who both earned their professional Formula Drift licenses at the 2008 Formula Drift PRO/AM East Divisional Championship at Virginia International Raceway. Both drivers have joined the Maxxis Tire team, alongside their Drift Alliance brothers, Chris Forsberg and Ryan Tuerck.

Brian Wilkerson takes 1st place at The Formula D PRO/AM East Divisional Championship and is awarded his 2009 Formula Drift License
ALTON, Virginia, Oct. 5, 2008 – Drift Alliance Ace Brian Wilkerson traveled to Virginia International Raceway this past weekend to compete in the 2008 Formula Drift PRO/AM East Divisional Championship presented by Mazda which was held in conjunction with GTLive 7 and the KONI Challenge Finals. Brian’s initial goal was a podium finish, and not only did he take the top podium position, but he rightfully earned his 2009 Formula Drift license as well.
