The Big Smoke-Wimbledon Raceway London-Results
Juha Rintanen Takes the win and the championship lead
After 4 years at the now world renowned Wembley street drift circuit a change of venue left an few people questioning the venue change. Little did people think the London event would be bigger then ever despite the Olympics next month and European football games on the same day..
Round 2-The big Smoke London had an amazing turnout , and with such a demand on tickets an additional grandstand had to be opened to meet capacity at the venue. Again online media was huge and the class leading livestream from the event went down a treat with fans tuning in from all around the world! Over the duration of the day the channel reached 40,000 impressions and reached peak viewership in Finland following fellow countryman Juha Rintanen.
Drift Allstars European Series Round 2: London: “The Big Smoke” Returns on June 24th
With regret, we must announce a change of venue from the O2 arena to the Wimbledon Stadium for the Drift Allstars European Series Round 2. Over the past month a great strain has been placed on venues in London by outsider event producer LOCOG, who looks after the Olympic builds. With the old home of London drift events in Wembley unusable for this period and the O2 arena increasingly squeezed for space, it was no longer viable to run our London event as originally planned.
Luckily, we have secured Wimbledon Stadium instead. One of the UK’s very first oval tracks and still the biggest in the UK, Wimbledon Stadium has been hosting racing since 1928 and has fantastic facilities with a 8,000 seater grandstand, restaurants and a dedicated VIP/Corporate area. It’s even bigger than previous Wembley layouts, making this the biggest London drifting event ever. With a fresh map, we’ve relished the chance to design a new course and our Round 2 layout, bringing fans even closer to the action.

After 4 years at Wembley a change was needed and we could only go bigger. This was the year to move to a newer, better, and more iconic venue showcasing the best drivers at the most famous stop of the calendar. Within sight of Canary Wharf, there is no better venue to increase the awareness of Drift Allstars London’s events in the capital.
Round 3- Punchestown, Ireland July 28-29th
Drift Allstars has always had a strong European following, but with such a high percentage of Irish drivers it seemed fitting to launch our first stop of the 2012 international tour at this famous venue. With competitive events taking place at the venue since 2006, could this be the biggest drift event ever to hit Ireland?
