Nostalgic Sunday – 2007 Clipping Points: Realtime Racing / Pierre Kleinubing
After our last successful set of interviews for Honda Tuning magazine, the editors asked us to speak with SPEED World Challenge champion Pierre Kleinubing and his Realtime Racing team to find out about their jump into the world of drifting. We finally tracked him down shortly after SEMA, and discussed the development of the RealTime drift S2000, his 2006 drift season, plans for the upcoming season. Check out the feature in the May issue of w magazine.
The Whiskey Garage Chronicles: Formula D Pro 2 Irwindale, or A Series of Unfortunate Events
JWood Media absolutely slayed this episode of the WG chronicles for our final event of 2015, Irwindale. As my previous 2 seasons have been, its a fitting finale to the season that was indeed a series of unfortunate events. Watch as I do a few slides, perform national geographic esque photo shots with Larry Chen, ask Aasbo why he wants to die, and drink from Chris Forsbergs giant cup.
#BATTLEDRIFT – Vaughn vs. Daigo – by: Monster Energy
Vaughn Gittin Jr. heads to Niigata, Japan in his 550 HP 5.0L V-8 Mustang RTR to take on Daigo Saito’s 650 HP V-12 Drift Lamborghini. Built by Liberty Walk and Phat Five racing, Saito’s AWD to RWD converted beast is looking for a fight. The two drift legends head to Niigata, Japan to battle it out on a touge run as they head into the abandoned Niigata Russian Village. Like something from a post apocalyptic world, the village provides the perfect backdrop for these outrageous machines to create some mayhem. After watching this video, if your dreams aren’t filled with the sweet sounds of a V-8 Muscle Car battling against a V-12 Supecar, something is seriously wrong with you. Put on a pair of headphones or hook up a nice set of speakers and Crank the Volume! #BATTLEDRIFT
PARC Drift (In Slow Motion)
My 1st event with the new Sony A7Sii. I couldn’t be more happy with how solid this camera is not to mention it was completely soaked by the end of the day. This was shot last month at Pats Acres Racing Complex for a local grassroots drift event, and the Oregon rain made for some beautiful cinematography shooting 1080p at 120fps.
