The ProAm event just finished at VIR, and we’ve got some early reports to give to our readers. Several former NOPI Drift drivers were at the event, and many found success at the event. Brian Wilkerson from MA Motorsports won the event, beating John Wagner in the finals, with would-be NOPI Drift champion Nate Brasz taking 3rd and local driver Dan Savage taking 4th. Savage normally drives a Miata but borrowed an S14 just for this event. More after the jump….
Also getting a liscense were several other former NOPI Drift drivers including Stewart Leask, Dennis Mertezanis, James Robinson, Matt Waldin, and Ali Aljibouri all got licenses. Some notables who missed out on licenses include Sammy “Tiger”, FD alum Doug VanDenBrink, and Dan Willie (among others). A total of 10 licenses were handed out at the event. Congrats to all of those who secured licenses at the event!! We should have more info coming later this week.
As a reminder, ProAm West will be held on the same weekend as the Red Bull World Championships at the same facility. Qualified amateurs and “zero-point” Formula D drivers will be driving at the Docks of Long Beach to earn their 20009 Formula D License.
