Enjuku conducting Roll Cage Group Buy

Posted on February 4, 2009 by jacob

Our friends at EnjukuParts are doing a group buy for roll cages for the 2009 season, we’re just trying to spread the word a bit. If you are running tandem at any of the various amateur or pro-am events around the US, it would be worth your while to get in on this group buy! These prices are very good, and even with shipping, is much cheaper than many other alternatives.

Hit the jump for pricing!

Posted on December 18, 2008 by jacob

We came across a few photos of Chris Forsberg’s now-infamous Nissan NOS Energy Drink 350Z roadster being torn down into pieces. We’ve been given some information about the new setup, but for now, enjoy the photos of Forsberg’s Z in its’ rawest form.

Drift Australia Cutting Back To 1 Round In 2009

Posted on December 10, 2008 by jacob

We got the inside tip today that due to the economic slowdown, Toyo Tires Australia will not be title sponsor for the Drift Australia series, and as a direct result of this, Drift Australia wil be cutting back to a single round for 2009. The event will be held on the weekend of September 19-20 at Oran Park Raceway just outside of Sydney. Toyo Tires has been a title sponsor of Drift Australia since the inaugural 2005 season.

The Drift Australia team is working hard to find a new title sponsor, and plans to run a full schedule for 2010. We’ll keep you up to date on everything happening Down Under as we find out more.

Team Hankook: Ireland – ’08 Recap

Posted on December 9, 2008 by jacob

Our friends over at ProDrift sent us this sweet recap of the Irish contingent of Team Hankook. With Darren McNamara’s success here in the US, and the good showing from Eric O’Sullivan and James Deane at the recent Red Bull Drifting World Championships, we might need to start paying more attention to the drivers over in the Emerald Isle!

370Z revealing

Posted on November 23, 2008 by jacob

Earlier this week, our friends over at The ID Agency (Formula D’s PR Firm) invited us to a special 370Z revealing party in downtown LA. The car was officially revealed at the LA Auto Show, but this was a special opportunity to get up close and personal with the car. Several generations of Z car were lined up inside and outside the venue, but the Yellow and Blue iterations of the new car were the stars of the show. Several drivers came out to check out the car including current Nissan drivers Chris Forsberg and Tanner Foust, as well as Rhys Millen, Dai Yoshihara, Ernie Fixmer, and others. The 350Z quickly became one of the most prominent stars in the Formula D series, we expect the 370Z to do the same. Check the jump for some more snaps of the new chassis.

RIP: Sport Compact Car magazine

Posted on November 21, 2008 by jacob

Our sources on the inside have informed us that Sport Compact Car was axed this week. While the magazine wasn’t too big on drifting content, it’s just another sad sign of the state of our economy and our industry. Advertisers are pulling budgets, and print magazines are suffering. SCC joins the likes of Turbo, Car Audio and Electronics, Traction (a magazine that was around for such a short period of time it didn’t even have an official website!), and Siphon as magazines which have been cut by Source Interlink this year. We hear that some of the editors will be re-assigned to other publications, but others are now looking for work.
