RESULTS FROM FD PRO QUALIFYING
NOTES
- FD Erie takes place at Lake Erie Speedway – a new venue for the FD PRO series that is popular with grassroots drift drivers in the Great Lakes area
- Rain dominated qualifying, with conditions changing throughout the session
- Three FD PRO drivers were unable to begin qualifying, and Trenton Beechum (USA) was unable to complete a qualifying run in the Clonex Racing / Nexen Tire Ford Mustang, meaning only 29 drivers qualified for the Top 32 competition heats
- With only 29 qualifiers, the top three drivers get a bye round thought the Top 32 into the Top 16, giving them a major advantage
- FD Erie sees the best ever FD PRO qualifying position for Adam LZ in first place
- The wet surface, new track and vehicle problems resulted in some unusual match-ups in the Top 32. The most anticipated will see Round 3 winner and points leader, Matt Field (USA) in the Falken Tire / Drift Cave Chevrolet Corvette, face Round 3 second-place finisher, Chris Forsberg (USA), who qualified last after experiencing more mechanical problems in his NOS Energy / GT Radial Nissan 370Z
- Top FD PRO rookie is 12th place Joshua Reynolds (USA) in the Drift Force / Nexen Tire F22 Eurofighter BMW
