COLIN FROST AND CREW TO BUILD NEW CAR IN THREE WEEKS
ORANGE, CALIF. – Because of financial issues, driver Colin Frost started a new chapter of his career last weekend when his crew chief became his team owner and started the three-week build of Frost’s new car for the 2009 Formula D season, said Nicole Lerma, director of public relations for CFrost Racing.
Colin Frost has faced a difficult off season in which he encountered funding and car issues that caused him to put his Lexus IS-350 project on hold for a year. His crew chief and longtime friend, Bryan Rogers offered up his personal S13 daily driver and his own SR-20 for Frost’s new track car. Last Saturday, Rogers began the transformation of the stock Nissan 240sx on its way to becoming a competitive drift car. The crew plans to have the car ready for the pre-season technical inspection on April 4, said Lerma.
Aside from being crew chief and now car owner for Colin Frost, Bryan Rogers is also preparing for his own season driving the Megan Racing S14. His first event will be D1 Anaheim on May 2, said Lerma.
“We have an entire car to build in a just a few weeks but the hard work is going to be worth it to be able to put Colin into a competitive car for the season,” said Rogers.
