Countdown Started Untill Launch of Youngest European Drift Series
After months of preparation, it looks like the first round of the Open Drift Championship is gaining faster by the day. The Open Drift Championship is the newest drift series in Europe with his base in The Netherlands.
According to SD-Events owner Dennis van Orsouw are the last bits always the toughest: “You start with the big parts of the puzzle. While the event is coming closer, the parts are getting smaller and you are taking more time in making it all fit in one piece. But we receive a big support from our partner Skycell Events and so we are optimistic for the first round.”
The first round of the ODC will be held during the event called Speed & Gein (Speed & Fun) on the circuit of Zandvoort in weekend of 25/26 April. An event where automotive sports, lifestyle and extreme sports go together in one event.
With drivers from Luxemburg until Poland its directly obvious how high the new championship is ranked in Europe. At this point at least 34 drivers have registered for the first round and the ODC is full confidence the max of 50 drivers will be reached before the start of the event.
Top level is what SD-Events, the company behind the ODC, stands for. This year will be used to get foot between the other drift series, but SD Events is already negotiating for 2010.
For the first round, legendary names like Paul Vlasblom, Remmo Niezen (both drivers from the Red Bull Word Championship 2008), Tim Tatje, Yves Faber, Jasper Spaan, Olaf Commijs, Jos Bruin, Vernon Zwanenveld and many more are ready for the event and van Orsouw is proud to announce these names for his first event. “These guy’s drive different drift championships in different countries in a year. It’s great to see that these drivers don’t forget their home country and that they show their confidence in us by immediately registering for this new organization.”
