Castrol DMCC Presents Round 3
MONTMAGNY (QUEBEC) – July 29th, 2008 – CASTROL DMCC Round 3 – With the season approaching its half way point, Castrol DMCC is excited to be hosting their round 3 race in Montmagny. With their hard core fans andhistory of hard core races, it is sure to be the ultimate way to mark our last Quebec City event of the season.
Round 2 proved to be very intense. As the tables were turned with respect to the podium results, round 3 is bound to be unpredictable. Driving really hard and straight to the top was Stephan Scardocchio one of DMCC’s newest drivers, who just this past weekend put his name out there by coming in first place. Stephan only started with the series last year, and had actually entered the series with no sponsorship whatsoever. This year however, he has claimed a spot for himself on the well known Kumho Tire Drift Team.
Coming in at a close second after 4 “one more time” tandem battles with Scardocchio was underdog Pat Cyr. With this being Pat’s first ever podium finish and still competing without sponsorship, this truly shows how the passion for drifting has dramatically increased the standards of our very own DMCC drivers and series as a whole. It is now evident that he is quickly becoming one of the most feared talents on the track as Cyr is hoping to catch a break with some interested sponsor.
In third place the well know and very talented Hideki Nishimura with the Toyo drift team took to the podium. After a close battle with round 1 winner Marco Santos, Hideki and his 700 hp Skyline R34 would not let his misfortunes from the first round happen to him again.
Round 2 was also packed with great off track attractions. With what turned out to be a gorgeous summer day, the close to 3500 spectators filled the autodrome admiring the sponsor tents, show and shine cars and even the opportunities to socialize with the drivers and Miss DMCC Montreal during off racing time slots. The vibe was truly unique to Montreal and created a new standard for the remaining events.
There will be no holding back for the upcoming round 3 event on July 20th, 2008 in Montmagny Quebec. With the drivers competition proving to supply Castrol DMCC with one of their best drifting seasons yet, there is no telling what will happen next and who will end up on top.
