JDM Allstars: Round 4 Report – DUTCH DOMINANCE

Posted on September 15, 2009 by George

The Finals Silverstone

After a titanic start to the season, all the pressure came down to the final round at Silverstone. What better way to end the series than to end at the TRAX show in front of thousands of spectators. The TRAX show is famous in the UK scene for delivering the best single day Track action event in the UK. For 2009 JDM All-stars were asked to be part of that and showcase the final of the series.

Practice and qualifying kicked of on the Saturday evening. Right out of the box Remmo Niezen was the top man on form in his Falken Tyres BMW. Dan Chapman was hot on his heels as were team-mate Phil Morrison in the Driftworks S15 and big surprise Declan Hicks showing everyone the line around Silverstone.

Alan “Chubby “McCord still didn’t have his V8-S15 finished but brought out his old school JZX81 Missile car running 600hp. Declan Munnely also showed great form, as did 13 year old rookie Dwaine Mckeever in the 180sx. Dwaines best run of the weekend was infact his very first practice lap around the track testament to his all out attack and style and showing he will be a contender in 2010.

Remmo Niezen topped the qualifying sheets with 98 points. Declan hicks pulled out a crazy run coming 2nd with 97.5 points and Dan Chapman and teamate Phil Morrison were also tied on 97 points.

After this dramatic session it was evident that Remmo had his eye on the win. With one hand on the trophy and the extra qualifying points going into Sunday the 2009 series was all his to be had.

Sunday morning started with huge crowds flooding into the Silverstone Circuit from all over the UK. With so many activities going on and the JDM All-stars drift show exposing drifting to the masses, this was one event not to be missed. 4 mile tailbacks from Silverstone entrance and over 16,500 people meaning this was the biggest modified car show drift event at Silverstone in a long time.

Anthony scott qualified but had an engine Failure and Dwainne Mckeever (The 13 year old sensation ) qualified in 12th but moments before the top 16 had to retire with mechanical problems.
