After finally settling in Canada I headed down with some buddies to Evergreen speedway in Washington, USA to check out the EVD Grassroots series and and week later one day after Formula Drift, Tandem Mayhem. It’s good to see that for the most part, Drifting is the same as back home, Sure, with less corners and more throttle but the same cars, same engines and the same personalities that together make for a great day out!

Long Beach, Calif. April 5, 2016 - Formula DRIFT presented by BlackVue has announced that it will offer $25,000 additional dollars in prize money to the any driver that wins three specific events. Those events will be Long Beach, Evergreen Speedway and Wall Speedway.
The new Blackvue relationship has allowed us to invest further in developing the series and this additional prize purse is one of the many things that people will see this year, said Jim Liaw, President and Co-Founder of Formula DRIFT. Blackvue will also be giving cameras to each podium winner this year. Formula DRIFT Round 1, Long Beach kick-offs this weekend, April 8-9. The sell-out event showcases the worlds best drifters competing on the wall-to-wall course of the Long Beach Grand Prix street track. All festivities are open to the public and each day will also be broadcast live at www.formulad.com/live.
Tickets are now available for Round 1: Streets of Long Beach on April 8-9, including reserved seating, 2-day ticket packages, and VIP tickets. Tickets can be purchased through www.formuladrift.com, Ticketmaster outlets, and the Long Beach Convention Center box office.

Long Beach, Calif. February 24, 2016 Formula DRIFT presented by Blackvue has renewed their relationship with Evergreen Speedway for three years extending into 2018. Since 2005, the venue has hosted the Series in the Pacific Northwest.
Formula DRIFTs priority has been to establish a foundation for the sport of Drifting, said Jim Liaw, president and co-founder of Formula DRIFT. We found our home in the Pacific Northwest with Evergreen Speedway back in 2005. Since then, we have grown to be one of the largest events at the venue. By renewing our relationship with our third longest running venue for three more seasons only makes sense.
In 2005, Formula DRIFT began the relationship with Evergreen Speedway. 2016 marks the 11th consecutive season for the Series to return to the venue, which is the 3rd longest running relationship for the Series with a track only followed by Irwindale Speedway and Road Atlanta. The event draws one of the largest attended crowds outside of Southern California showcasing the popularity of the sport in the Pacific Northwest. The events popularity stems from the exciting action on track. The course is one of the most challenging on the circuit and the variable weather conditions adds a dynamic element to the competition.
