Vaughn Gittin Jr. Pilots Ford Mustang RTR to First-Place Finish at Formula Drift Atlanta

BRASELTON, GEORGIA (May 7, 2016) –Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his 2016 Ford Mustang RTR were untouchable during this weekend’s Formula Drift “Road Atlanta” event as he dominated in qualifying before scoring a unanimous decision for the overall win Saturday night.

During the qualifying session held on Friday, May 6th, the Monster Energy driver earned the top qualifying spot of 31 drivers, racking up 94 of 100 possible points. That high score gave Gittin a bye into the Top Sixteen round of the competition, and he took advantage.

Jhonnattan Castro Joins Papadakis Racing

Portland, OREGON (March 30 2016) – Jhonnattan Castro has officially announced the move and formation of a satellite team to Papadakis Racing, and with him will bring sponsorship from Nexen Tire and longtime sponsor Gerdau Metaldom, KW and Advan Racing.
As part of the new partnership Jhonnattan Castro Racing will take on an ownership role as a semi-works team to Papadakis Racing, and will be driving the 2016 Scion FR-S alongside current series champion Fredric Aasbo.

Formula DRIFT Signs Multi-Year Television Deal With CBS Sports Network

Long Beach, Calif. – March 10, 2015 – Formula DRIFT has announced a television agreement with CBS Sports Network for 20 half-hour programs throughout the year. The fast paced action featuring bracketed head-to-head match-ups will anchor the coverage and be featured across 13 episodes. Coverage also includes an additional 7 shows featuring a brand new behind-the-scenes program, “Formula DRIFT Insider.”

“We are very excited about this new relationship with CBS Sports Network,” said Ryan Sage, Vice President and Co-Founder of Formula DRIFT. “We have expanded our programming to nearly double the episodes and our new schedule is amazing! Formula DRIFT Round 1: Streets of Long Beach Tickets On-Sale

The 2015 World Championship Season Begins on April 10-11, 2015

Long Beach, Calif. – January 14, 2015 – Formula DRIFT will begin the 2015 World Championship season beginning with Round 1: Streets of Long Beach on April 10-11. Tickets are now on-sale and can be purchased online via the Formula DRIFT website, www.formuladrift.com.

“This marks the inaugural World Championship season,” said Jim Liaw, president and co-founder of Formula DRIFT. “We are excited to kick off this historic season on the Long Beach Grand Prix Street Course. The season opener is always one of the most action packed, with new cars, drivers and a sell-out crowd.”

The World Championship will consist of seven Pro Championship rounds in the United States and three international rounds of competition. Japan, Canada, and China will host the international events. Round 1: Streets of Long Beach marks the start of the inaugural World Championship season with Chris Forsberg returning to defend his championship.
