Today is the day! Nisei Week Showoff Car Show! We brought you news of this for the past few months. We are happy to let you know, to getup and get out to downtown today! This is set to be the 2nd to the very last one and we are sad to see it go. But happy that it was able to do these last 2 events before it leaves us for good.

Ken has managed to do what he could and we hope this has such gret success that it is not the last one ever. If you miss this week, they are having the MegaMatsuri show next week at the same location. Click here for more info.

Showoffcafe Back On… Or Is It?

Just over a month ago we had reported that ShowOffCafe.com was on hiatus and looked as if it was going to be gone forever(Click Here for previous story). It is with much happiness that we are here to report that they have scheduled an event for August 15th, 2009! This is great news as it has had a major impact in both the import and drift scene throughout the U.S. since its induction. The title of this has both a positive and a negative. The positive being that there will be an event. The negative being that as the site states “This might be the last SHOWOFF event EVER! Be apart of history and register now”. We know that talks have been going on, but until we find out more. This might very be the last event ever. Stay tuned for more as we get it…

Showoffcafe On Hold…

Whether you have been in the drift scene or the import scene. You know who, or what is showoffcafe and driftshowoff here in Southern California and nation wide. Both of these we’re started by Ken Miyoshi to help push the import scene and make sure it stayed hoping. After running and being noticeable for the past several years, we recently noticed that they we’re not at SEMA discussing the upcoming 2009 year, as well the site was last updated in 2008. We ended up contacting Ken to discuss if the rumors we had heard on the end of this once great venue was in fact true. Continue reading →
