ADGP Recap: DriftSquid takes on the Dome!

Round 1 of the Just Car Insurance Australian Drifting Grand Prix was set to be a big one. Sure enough the Team was put on the edge for the entire weekend, with many ups and downs along the way. Before the Team even set off for the road trip to Victoria they had a huge one and a half weeks of work on the car. Many sleepless nights and tons of coffee got the job done though.

The Saturday started with a full day of practice. Heading out in the freshly tuned 400RWKW, the Just Cars Sonvia was set to make the ADVAN tyres diminish within a couple laps. However electrical problems started our day which lead into a string of issues we couldn’t resolve in a short period. By the end of the day and changing every single spare part we had, the Sonvia just didn’t want to play the game. Continue reading →

Some savage weather cancelled the end of a wet and windy day 1 but luckily cleared for some epic battles and huge entries on day 2.Many people had a blast trying and succeeding at backward entries on the entry to the dipper. Luke Fink again showed why he is one of the best aussie drifters going around with a comfortable win. Insane drifters again got on the podium with Andreas Paraskevas taking 3rd and Josh Boettcher taking 2nd on his home turf.

Hold up, melbourne and sunny weather?
Two amazing, action packed days full of Drifting, girls, Moto, music and mayhem, if Round one was a test for ADGP.. You better get yourself to Queensland Raceway on the 15th and 16th of October cause it’s going to be INSANE!

A Shout out to the drivers, especially Shane beresford, Simon Michelmore, Mitchell jeffery, Christian Pickering, Tom Monkhouse, Amy for throwing the show together, Yoshi keeping it inline, all the media boys, thanks for getting in the way.. JOKING!
