Irish Drift Championship Round 1 – Mondello
I’ve rated IDC as one of the best championships in the world for the last couple of seasons due to the way it is run and the level of driving, so was good to be back at Mondello Circuit for round 1 of the 2018 season.
Formula DRIFT, Irish Drift Championship, and British Drift Championship Form Strategic Alliance
Long Beach, Calif. – August 8, 2017 – Formula DRIFT has aligned with the Irish Drift Championship (IDC) and British Drift Championship (BDC) to form a strategic alliance to develop the future rules and regulations for drifting.
“Drifting, by it’s very nature, has always been geographically segregated and this, in my opinion, naturally restricts global progression,” stated David Egan, CEO, Zigen Promotions – Irish & British Drift Championship. “Those in a position of influence generally work independently, without the additional knowledge gained by fellow organizations. I believe this strategic partnership with Formula Drift opens a positive channel to which we can combine resources and experience, with the betterment of the sport being the prime objective. I think the correct time has come to work together for what has always been a common goal: making the sport of professional drifting as successful as possible for all involved.”
2016 Irish Drift Championship Round 5 – Mondello Park
Round 5 of the 2016 Irish Drift Championship returned to Mondello Park, the home of Irish Motorsport. The final event of the season is always highly anticipated but this year was no different with the championship still undecided.
2016 Irish Drift Championship Round 4 – Watergrasshill
Round 4 of the 2016 Irish Drift Championship would see it return to the karting track at Watergrasshill for the first time in 9 years. It’s a tight, twisty track that changes in height multiple times throughout the run, it was sure to be a challenging weekend for the drivers as they fought to increase their rankings in the championship ahead of the final round.
2016 Irish Drift Championship Round 3 – Mondello Park
Global Warfare has been the mid-season highlight of the Irish Drift Championship for a few years, this year would be no different with a fast, no compromise track. The Irish Drivers would also have the added difficulty of having to defend their undefeated streak as the Drift Allstars drivers were here to take it away from them.
