IRVINE, Calif. – Formula Drift veteran Daijiro Yoshihara will return to the 2015 Formula Drift competition this season for all seven rounds and a few select international rounds. Yoshihara’s first race will take place at the season opener, Streets of Long Beach, April 10 and 11. “Its always very exciting right before the start of the season and I look forward to the competition this year,” says Yoshihara.
The Falken Tire x Turn 14 Distribution Subaru BRZ returns for only it’s second season after last year’s debut with lots more power, a lot less weight and more fine tuned handling. “This platform is a lot of fun to drive and after learning so much from last year’s debut, I’m confident this year will be much better,” says Yoshihara.
Keeping with the classic Falken Tire scallop livery but integrating this year’s co-title sponsor’s corporate colors of Turn 14 Distribution, the new race looks give a nice sense of familiarity with just enough new experience feel.
The 2011 Formula Drift Champion will also be a judge at Formula Drift Japan domestic series all three rounds. First round is April 25th-26th, second round July 11th-12th, third round September 12th-13th. Dai has served as a judge before at Professional Asia Drift Series, Formula Drift Malaysia and Singapore.
