ENEOS RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH DAI YOSHIHARA FOR 2021 FORMULA DRIFT, PIKES PEAK AND MORE

ENEOS – Japan’s largest oil company and supplier of motor oil and transmission fluids to the majority of Asian vehicle manufacturers – is pleased to announce it will again support Japanese driver Daijiro Yoshihara in the Formula DRIFT PRO Championship. A week before the opening round at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, ENEOS and Dai are marking the fifth year of their motorsports partnership, although Dai’s connection to the brand dates back to when he worked at an ENEOS gas station as a young man in his native Tokyo. Rising to become the 2011 Formula DRIFT Champion, Dai continues to be among the top drivers in the sport he’s been committed to since its inception in 2003.

ENEOS currently sponsors Kyle Larson in NASCAR and Steve Arpin in Global Rallycross. For 2017, the roster is extended to Daijiro Yoshihara who competes in the Formula DRIFT series.

Dai Yoshihara Finishes Top 8 for Round 6 of Formula Drift

IRVINE, Calif. –Round 6: “Showdown” of the 2015 Formula Drift Championship returned to Texas Motor Speedway with a new configuration that proved to be competitive and record breaking. Countless “one more time” battles made this round the longest Top 16 qualifying in series history.

Dai would qualify 14th, despite the new and challenging track configuration, giving him a spot to move on to the top 32 competition. Continue reading →

Dai Yoshihara Returns to Formula Drift for Full Season in 2015

For Immediate Release – April 6, 2015

IRVINE, Calif. – Formula Drift veteran Daijiro Yoshihara will return to the 2015 Formula Drift competition this season for all seven rounds and a few select international rounds. Yoshihara’s first race will take place at the season opener, Streets of Long Beach, April 10 and 11.  “Its always very exciting right before the start of the season and I look forward to the competition this year,” says Yoshihara.

The Falken Tire x Turn 14 Distribution Subaru BRZ returns for only it’s second season after last year’s debut with lots more power, a lot less weight and more fine tuned handling.  “This platform is a lot of fun to drive and after learning so much from last year’s debut, I’m confident this year will be much better,” says Yoshihara. Torrance, California –  The 2014 Formula Drift season kicked off to yet another sold out crowd, packed bleachers and lots of tire smoke.  It marks the start for the 11th season of professional drifting in the U.S. and being involved from its inception, it would also be 11 years behind a professional drift car for Daijiro Yoshihara.  This season for The Falken Tire team would not be like years past as a new car was unveiled for competition.  This year’s new competition car would be a Subaru BRZ, an already popular platform and chassis in the drift series.
