ENEOS – Japan’s largest oil company and supplier of motor oil and transmission fluids to the majority of Asian vehicle manufacturers – is pleased to announce it will again support Japanese driver Daijiro Yoshihara in the Formula DRIFT PRO Championship. A week before the opening round at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, ENEOS and Dai are marking the fifth year of their motorsports partnership, although Dai’s connection to the brand dates back to when he worked at an ENEOS gas station as a young man in his native Tokyo. Rising to become the 2011 Formula DRIFT Champion, Dai continues to be among the top drivers in the sport he’s been committed to since its inception in 2003.

Formula Drift made its final stop of the year at the House of Drift Irwindale Speedway for it’s signature final round of the season. Three drivers would enter into the round in contention for the championship – Points leader Chris Forsberg, 2nd place Fredric Aasbo and 3rd Vaughn Gittin Jr. Forsberg would be chasing down his 3rd championship title trying to pass Samuel Hubinette and Tanner Foust on the list with 2 titles. Aasbo would be defending by trying to defend his 2015 title and become the second driver to win consecutive championships.
Formula DRIFT Round 2: Advance Auto Parts Road to the Championship Sposored by Gumout Results; Vaughn Gittin Wins the Event and Takes Over Lead in the Standings
Long Beach, Calif. – May 7, 2016 – Formula DRIFT presented by BlackVue returned to Atlanta for Round 2: Advance Auto Parts Road to the Championship sponsored by Gumout. Vaughn Gittin in the Monster Energy / Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR takes the victory to move into the lead in the Pro Championship standings.
The Advance Auto Parts Road to the Championship sponsored by Gumout returned to the home of the inaugural Formula DRIFT event. The event weekend featured both the PRO 2 championship and Pro Championship with a full schedule of on-track action.
“Road Atlanta is not only the first track to host Formula DRIFT, 13 years ago, but also a driver favorite course,” said Jim Liaw, President of Formula DRIFT. “The action is always exciting and the crowd’s energy help make this one of the best events on the circuit.”
Dai Yoshihara Finishes Top 8 for Round 6 of Formula Drift
IRVINE, Calif. –Round 6: “Showdown” of the 2015 Formula Drift Championship returned to Texas Motor Speedway with a new configuration that proved to be competitive and record breaking. Countless “one more time” battles made this round the longest Top 16 qualifying in series history.
Dai would qualify 14th, despite the new and challenging track configuration, giving him a spot to move on to the top 32 competition. Continue reading
Team Falken Stands in 5th Place with Justin Pawlak in Formula D Championship
BRASELTON, GA – Team Falken, a two-time manufacturer’s champion in Formula Drift, keeps applying pressure to its competition, and after Round 2 at Road Atlanta, has Falken team member Justin Pawlak in 5th place overall.
Though eventual event winner Vaughn Gittin, Jr., defeated Pawlak in the Top 16 Round, the match between the two was deemed the “battle of the weekend” as the drivers went through two hard-fought “One More Time” rounds just as rain blanketed the track.
