MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis of Team Falken placed third in Round 5 of the Formula Drift schedule. Bakchis defeated the #1 qualifier, Forrest Wang, in the Top 8 round but lost to eventual winner Fredric Aasbo in the Top 4. This was the inaugural Formula D Pro event to be held at the popular Autodrome St. Eustache in Montreal, Quebec.

“Team Falken had an impressive showing at the inaugural event in Montreal and we’re leaving with three drivers in the top 10 in championship standings,” said Steven Wong, Supervisor, Motorsports & Events.

All supported drivers compete on Falken’s AZENIS line of Ultra High Performance tires. The durability of the RT615K, which comes in 21 sizes, makes it ideal for performance vehicles on the track and on the street.

“Odi had a great weekend and was rewarded with a hard-earned 3rd place finish. The superior grip and control provided by the AZENIS tire definitely gave Team Falken the edge in getting on the podium this weekend,” said Motorsports Marketing and Events Manager at Falken Tire, Jonathan Bradford.

With his third place finish, Bakchis remains 4th in the championship standings, however other Team Falken drivers also had a successful weekend. Daijiro Yoshihara qualified 6th, and after the Montreal event, ranks 6th in championship points. Matt Field qualified 9th in Montreal, and will move on to the next event ranked 10th in championship points; giving Team Falken three drivers in the top 10 in the championship standings.

The next round of the 2016 Formula Drift Championship will be held at Evergreen Speedway in Washington on August 5-6, when drivers brave “The Throwdown.”
