Rockingham Drift Days have been around for a while now and we have attended a couple in the past in order to see what pro divers were out testing their cars and capture some cool photos for all of you.
When it was announced that the Easter Monday drift day was going to be something special we knew we had to be there as did so many of the drifters. A full size, accurate Meihan layout was setup on the oval at Rockingham Motor Speedway!
This would be the closest that many of these drivers would come to drifting the real Meihan track any time soon so you could be sure that everyone was going to bring as many tyres as they could fit in their vans, strapped to their cars etc.
The track was impressive to watch with so many Japanese inspired cars turning up to give it a go from Chasers & R34 4doors to the usual selection of R-bodies and S-Chassis.
A second track was setup to give the drivers somewhere to have a play rather than sitting in the queue for the main track. I have dubbed this the ‘Mayhem’ track as it was non stop action with 12 car trains running throughout the time that I ventured over to it. It was hard to know where to look with so much happening on every run through the course!
Ill leave you with some more photos and hope to see more of you at a Rockingham Drift Day in the near future.
