5 V8-powered Nissans at FD Road Atlanta + Drivers list
We’re just 48 hours away from the 6th Formula D event at Road Atlanta, and as we get closer to the event, we have some great information on some cars heading to Atlanta. As of now, there are 38 drivers registered for the event (full list after the jump), and we just found out that there will be a few changes to some cars at the event. For a few years, we’ve seen Chris Forsberg’s V8-powered NOS Energy Drink Maxxis 350Z compete, and Tyler McQuarrie’s V8-powered Falken Tires 350Z roadster as well as Rookie Jodin Lejeune’s Stillen supercharged VK-powered Drift Emporium G35, which graced the January cover of Import Tuner, debuted at the Long Beach event. In Atlanta, at least 2 other cars will have VK power under the hood… Can you guess who they are? We’ll give you the answer Friday Morning after both cars hit the track for Practice… and don’t forget, we’ll have live updates all weekend long!
Full drivers list after the jump!
Chris Forsberg: The final rendering!!
On Thursday, we released 2 renderings which were sent to us of Chris Forsberg’s 2009 Drift Car. We gave our users an opportunity to give feedback on which one they liked better. Turns out, while both renderings were very unique, a third and final design was chosen for Forsberg’s 2009 car. We now have all 3 renderings. We still are interested to hear the feedback from our users. Do you like the new rendering? Do you like the older “can” rendering? Let us know!
Chris Forsberg: Out With The Old…
We came across a few photos of Chris Forsberg’s now-infamous Nissan NOS Energy Drink 350Z roadster being torn down into pieces. We’ve been given some information about the new setup, but for now, enjoy the photos of Forsberg’s Z in its’ rawest form.
370Z revealing
Earlier this week, our friends over at The ID Agency (Formula D’s PR Firm) invited us to a special 370Z revealing party in downtown LA. The car was officially revealed at the LA Auto Show, but this was a special opportunity to get up close and personal with the car. Several generations of Z car were lined up inside and outside the venue, but the Yellow and Blue iterations of the new car were the stars of the show. Several drivers came out to check out the car including current Nissan drivers Chris Forsberg and Tanner Foust, as well as Rhys Millen, Dai Yoshihara, Ernie Fixmer, and others. The 350Z quickly became one of the most prominent stars in the Formula D series, we expect the 370Z to do the same. Check the jump for some more snaps of the new chassis.
