Pacific Grand Prix Drift Invitational – Info and Photos (Gallery)

For the galley from this event check out the shots here… Thank you to Brandon Thai for the write up and photos.

For awhile now, every drift event in the state of Washington has been pretty much at Evergreen Speedway. This may be one of the best tracks to drive on but in this world that we live on, we want variety. So on May 15th NorthwestNissans very own, Rob Primo, set up an entire event for the drifting world at Pacific Grand Prix. The track contained a staggering 14 turns of almost a mile of track. Mind you it’s not the fast action like Evergreen but it is more technical in a sense. The number of turns alone is kind of intimidating. So add it all up, number of turns + length + amount of drivers on the track, what does that all add up into? One of the greatest drift events ever in Washington. There were over 18 – 20 drivers overall that was able to drive. The original list already had 16 drivers! All of the best drivers in Washington showed up from the T.I.P. crew to the SerialNine drivers who drove from Canada to be at the event. These drivers loved the new track and loved that they had the opportunity to expand their talent onto a different venue. The event lasted from 2:30 to around 9 p.m. That’s an astound 6 ½ hours of intense drifting. What more can an audience want? Maybe the beer garden? Or how about the girls? Whatever works for you, PGP had it. Because of the turnout, we can for sure see more events featuring PGP.

Pacific Grand Prix Drift Demo Info and Photos(Gallery)

Posted on April 25, 2010 by Staff

The day was fairly sunny hitting about 65 degrees on April 22nd, 2010. Many locals gathered for a great day of having fun with their family and friends, to watch Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra tear it up on the course of Pacific Grand Prix, and to see their local boys show their skills in front of hundreds of fans! The entire event started at 2 p.m. sharp while our local boys will have their showcase at 4:45 p.m.

Things were going great just watching guys in their WRX and STi show off on and off the track. There were many cars but most were doing their own thing on the opposite track which was not getting that much attention.

As 4:45 rolled around, the crowd’s attention shifts to the center stage to witness Rob Primo, Walker Wilkerson, Gleb Antonov, and Roland Gallagher perform their drift demo. Things were going great, everyone was doing well but a few problems arose. First, Gleb’s rear right tire pops after only 2 laps of their limited amount of time so he was done for the day then Roland’s rear bumper flew off and was dragged behind his car while still doing the showcase. Even through these small problems, the demo turned out to be fantastic! Congrats to our local boys for having a great day.

For the galley from this demo check out the shots here… Thank you to Brandon Thai for the write up and photos.
