WORLD WIDE TECHNOLOGY RACEWAY UNVEILS ENLARGEMENT OF ROAD COURSE
World Wide Technology Raceway officials have unveiled the completion of its road course expansion. The multi-purpose motorsports venue is located five miles from downtown St Louis in Madison, IL. The expansion, which was designed by Tony Cotman of NZR Consulting, expands the track from 1.6 miles to 2.0 miles in total distance. Additionally, the track enhancement creates a dynamic course configuration for the Formula DRIFT Series.
TICKETS GO ON SALE FOR 2019 FORMULA DRIFT FINAL ROUND AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY
Formula DRIFT is pleased to announce tickets are going on sale for its season finale – Round 8: AutoZone Title Fight presented by Rain-X, which takes place on October 18-19, 2019. As ever, it will be held at the world-famous House of Drift at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, CA.
Tickets sales begin on June 26 from 9AM PST / 12PM EST at formulad.com/schedule. Prices start at $30 and include Main Grandstand and Trackside Reserved tickets, as well as a VIP Experience, but hurry to avoid disappointment because the Title Fight always sells out.
DAI YOSHIHARA BEGINS FINAL COUNTDOWN TO PIKES PEAK WITH ENEOS
With only days before the 2019 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) takes place on June 30, ENEOS-sponsored driver and 2011 Formula DRIFT Champion, Daijiro Yoshihara, is making every effort to successfully complete his first attempt at the world’s most famous 12.42-mile uphill competition.
AASBO RETURNS TO FORM WITH 2019 FORMULA DRIFT PRO CATEGORY WIN AT ROAD ATLANTA, ROBINSON WINS PRO 2
As the 2019 Formula DRIFT season marches on, the teams arrived at Road Atlanta this weekend for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Road to the Championship presented by Permatex. It would see Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis defend his early lead in the Formula DRIFT Black Magic Pro Championship after wins in the first two rounds. Trenton Beechum would also attempt to defend his lead in the Formula DRIFT Link ECU Pro 2 Championship. However, both would be disappointed as new faces climbed on the top step of the podium.
For the Pro Category, rain showers brought an additional challenge to the competition heats but the capacity crowd witnessed exceptional skill as the drivers went wheel-to-wheel on the challenging Road Atlanta course.
