Chris Forsberg: The final rendering!!
On Thursday, we released 2 renderings which were sent to us of Chris Forsberg’s 2009 Drift Car. We gave our users an opportunity to give feedback on which one they liked better. Turns out, while both renderings were very unique, a third and final design was chosen for Forsberg’s 2009 car. We now have all 3 renderings. We still are interested to hear the feedback from our users. Do you like the new rendering? Do you like the older “can” rendering? Let us know!
Chris Forsberg: Out With The Old…
We came across a few photos of Chris Forsberg’s now-infamous Nissan NOS Energy Drink 350Z roadster being torn down into pieces. We’ve been given some information about the new setup, but for now, enjoy the photos of Forsberg’s Z in its’ rawest form.
Taniguchi’s updated GS430 Aristo Drift Car
So our original post had some improper information – that’s what we get for trusting our translation!! This car pictures is Taniguchi’s former Aristo car with the new Vertex GS430 front end conversion. The sticker scheme includes Yokohama and the rest of NOB’s sponsors. This is still the old 2JZ-powered Aristo that was driven here in the US in 2005 and 2006 in demo’s, and is now back in Japan doing MSC demo’s. We apologize for the mis-information, and thank our readers for getting us updated.
Economy Hurts Another Big Series
In what we already know is a strugling economy worldwide. We keep our eyes and ears out for all and came across a story today that is a suprise but not to shocking giving today’s financial woes. World Rally Championship which some of the current drift drivers are aware of or came from in their prior rally experience is showing that more and more company’s are suffering.
Suzuki pulled out of this competition no more then 24 hours ago and as of today, Subaru has followed suit. Subaru cited the worldwide financial economic crisis as to why it will also not continue, and that this was an immediate call. For more on this story check out autosport.com
2009 D1GP USA Schedule
D1 has posted a 2009 schedule, with 4 events on the Calender. In the past, D1 has announced big schedules which didn’t actually end up happening, so we’re going to stay a little skeptical until the May date in California comes a little closer. The good news is that former HIN heads Rich Goodwyn and Mike Munar are helping the D1GP organization out, so perhaps they will be able to resurrect the brand.
2009 D1 Grand Prix USA Schedule

• Dolphins Stadium, Miami, Florida – May 30th
