Driftcup Round 3 at the Three Sisters Race Circuit in Wigan was a challenging event, I didn’t take part in the practice day on the Saturday so I had to learn a new track on Sunday morning.
It’s a fun track to drive and I had an awesome time, improving with every run although to get the correct line you need to have a bit more power and have a lot of commitment!
I managed to qualify in 17th place after struggling all morning with the car just not having enough power to pull third gear and the track being a bit too fast for second.
My first battle was against Danny Mcguire in his R34 Skyline, we were both making adjustment to the cars right up until our battle as the rain had started.
He ran wide at the first corner in the tricky conditions handing me the advantage and the win so it was onto the Top 16.
When lining up for the next battle my car suddenly developed a major issue causing me to retire from the event before even getting to start the Top 16 battle.
I now have to strip down the engine to inspect it and get it fixed before the next round at Rockingham Motor Speedway on June 17th.
Thanks for all of my friends, my team and all of my sponsors for their help throughout the weekend.
