AASBO WINS FORMULA DRIFT PRO IN ST LOUIS, POWER WINS PROSPEC

Posted on August 30, 2021 by Toxic

As high temperatures sweep the nation, the Formula DRIFT PRO and Link ECU PROSPEC Championship teams were greeted by hot, humid conditions at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, IL. For the PRO drivers, Round 6: Crossroads should help to narrow down the field in the 2021 title race. And with 100 points available for a round winner, technically 32 of the 33 FD PRO drivers have a mathematical chance of winning. But, in reality, the title winner will almost certainly emerge from the top six drivers, who are all within 105 points of current leader, Chelsea DeNofa.

For the Link ECU PROSPEC teams, Round 3 represents the start of the second half of their season and we’re waiting to see who will carve out a lead. But with two drivers on equal points at the top of the table, there’s still a sizable field of drivers who could lift the championship trophy.

DENOFA WINS FORMULA DRIFT PRO ROUND 5 AT EVERGREEN SPEEDWAY AND TAKES CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD

Posted on August 2, 2021 by Toxic

With the previous two rounds taking place at new venues, many of the 2021 Formula DRIFT PRO Championship teams were glad to return to the familiar surroundings of Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA for Round 5: Throwdown.

The Seattle round marks the second half of the season and is the point at which a number of leading drivers need to mount a determined assault on the title before it escapes their grasp. And with the new-for-2021 Knockout Qualifying Format throwing up some unpredictable qualifying results, it’s proving even harder to predict the FD PRO Championship winner.

PIOTR WIECEK TAKES FIRST 2018 WIN AND TOYOTA CLINCHES THE AUTO CUP AT FORMULA DRIFT TEXAS

With only two rounds remaining in the 2018 Formula DRIFT season there are nine drivers in the Pro category and the entire Pro 2 grid with a mathematical chance to win their respective championships. FORMULA DRIFT TAKES THE PRO AND PRO 2 CATEGORIES TO THE NEW ST LOUIS ROUND FOR ITS ACTION-PACKED RETURN TO THE MID-WEST

Posted on August 14, 2018 by Toxic

Bringing world-class drifting to the Mid-West, the 2018 Formula DRIFT Black Magic Pro Championship and Link Pro 2 Championship headed to St Louis, MO for Round Six: Advance Auto Parts Crossroads presented by Rain-X. This would be the first time in its 15-year history the series had visited Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL and packed grandstands greeted the competitors.

“We’re delighted to bring Formula DRIFT Pro and Pro 2 Championships to St Louis,” beamed a delighted Jim Liaw, FD president. “We’ve been looking for a suitable venue to bring the series back to the Mid-West and Chris Blair proved to be the catalyst. He was formerly the VP of Racing Operations at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and knows what we need. So when he became EVP and GM at Gateway Motorsports Park it was the break we’d been waiting for. The track is adjacent to St Louis and accessible to most of the major cities in the Mid-West so its location is perfect. It also provides the facilities FD needs and we’re in discussions to expand certain areas for next year since we’re already looking at a capacity crowd and need the opportunity to grow. We think this will become one of the most popular events across the country once it’s fully established.”
