Meguiars to Sponsor Japspeed in 2011
Drifting is all about style, and with competition-spec BDC cars looking more and more outstanding every season it’s essential they’re kept in top condition both on and off the track.
Manchester-based Team Japspeed have one of the most-spectacular array of drift cars within the UK series including two S15s and a 1JZ-powered Impreza, and as such has teamed up with car cleaning experts Meguiar’s for the 2011 season.
‘Our cars are constantly being tweaked and with every single round receiving so much attention it’s essential we keep them looking as good as possible’ explains Japspeed’s Paul McCallum. ‘Our cars are featured in magazines and a promotional tool for the business, so with Meguiar’s help throughout 2011 we’ll ensure they stay looking perfect… providing the drivers stay on track!’
Meguiar‘s will add to the team’s current sponsors including Monster Energy Drink and Maxxis Tyres. Additionally, Japspeed are proud to welcome Meguiar’s into the UK drift scene which is evolving and expanding every season.

Chris Forsberg to Perform “Bottle Trick” in Japspeed’s s15 in his UK Debut
Chris Forsberg, world No.1 drift champion makes his UK debut at TRAX next Sunday, 5th September.
As well as showcasing his drift talent out on track and in the nail’d Live Action Arena, Chris will also attempt his infamous bottle trick…in Japspeed Danny Eyles’ S15!!
Although Chris Forsberg is a world-class drifter, jumping into a car he is not used to and pulling off an amazing performance is not easy, and with the Japspeed S15 being so different to his usual NOS Energy 350Z he has a huge challenge on his hands!
The biggest hurdle is the fact he is sitting on the opposite side of the car, and this means he has to use two of the vital drift tools, the gear stick and hydraulic handbrake, with his left hand rather than usual right, which will take some getting used to.
Another challenge is the engine characteristics, as although both cars have similar amounts of power and torque, the big V8 in his 350Z gives a huge punch at any point in the rev range that he nails the throttle, as while the S15 is very responsive, no turbocharged engine could match the immediate kick of the Titan V8.
