Autoworx driver Danny ‘Babu” Bernier is building a Ford Windsor 351-powered G35 Roadster for use in the 2009 Drift Mania championship. Babu purchased the G35 Coupe chassis which his General Tire teammate Marco Santos piloted at the Red Bull Drifting Wold Championships, and has some unique plans for the car. We’ve gotten word from the folks at Drift Mania that DMCC champion Fred Girrard will not be attending the Red Bull Drifting World Championships, as was earlier reported. Marco Santos, who finished 2nd to Girrard this year and has been one of the top drivers in the canadian Drift Mania series for many years now will be bringing his General Tire-sponsored G35 to the event. Santos is building a 350Z for the new 2009 season, but it will not be ready in time. Girrard cited monetary issues for the change. We’ll get you more info as it trickles into us!
