The US drift season is in full swing and this month Formula Drift held their second round at Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA. With rain dampening round one in Long Beach the drivers had their work cut out for them with this being the first event with fair weather this year. This was also the first Pro 2 event of the season where drivers that earned their FD license could first take their turn in the spotlight.
It’s back baby! The Midwest Drift Union Formula Drift Pro-Am series! We’ve waited all winter for the return of the legendary series.
For round one the series returned to its roots on an abandoned section of Grissom Air Force Base in northern Indiana. Years ago Drift Indy used the complex for their events which were a precursor for what became MDU.
This is the event that I always look forward to the most every year…or at least the last two years. The Midwest Drift Union made their second annual trip up to the Motor City for their second to last round in the series.
I have personally been around drifting since 2009 and I’ve been happy to know Geoff Stoneback for most of those years. Geoff resides in Philadelphia, PA and has been shredding up and down the east coast as well as the midwest in various events. When I heard he was making a run in FD this year I was super stoked for him and couldn’t wait to see where he would go.
