Friday’s Qualifying day was sure a hot one. Matt Field’s tires looked like we all felt shooting out inside the track. But the fire never fazed him and he kept on with his run’s giving us one Awesome show.

The Final Fight~~~House of Drift Finale… I doubt it
I loved Irwindale as a whole but I struggled with it as a photographer.
This being my first time to this event and possibly last time at this event, it was hard for me to adapt to the media’s limitations.
For this event we only had two spots where you were able to shoot completely open with no fence or a hole in the fence, just a wide open spot.
Normally I do media at PARC or Evergreen speedway and there is nothing in the way to shoot the cars and really not that many limitations even at FD Seattle. Continue reading
Hankook Tire Wins 2015 Formula Drift Pro, World Series And Tire Cup Championships
Wayne, NJ – October 12, 2015 – Hankook Tire driver Fredric Aasbo has been crowned the 2015 Formula Drift Pro and World Series Champion following this past weekend’s final round At Irwindale Speedway. Hankook drivers Ken Gushi and Chris Forsberg finished the season second and third place overall. Aasbo’s Pro and World series championships are the his first of his Formula Drift racing career.
Aasbo held the Pro Series points lead going into the seventh and final round of the Formula Drift season, with fellow Hankook Tire driver Ken Gushi just behind him in second place and Chris Forsberg in fourth overall. Qualifying in fifth position in his Hankook Tire/Rockstar Energy Scion tC, Aasbo was pitted against Kristaps Bluss in the Top 32 round. Things got dicey when Bluss spun out on the pair’s second run, causing Aasbo to make contact with Bluss. But in the end it didn’t matter, Aasbo went on to dominate at Irwindale ultimately winning the final race of the year with a first place finish. Hankook Tire drivers Ken Gushi and Forest Wang rounded out the winner’s podium at Irwindale in second and third place. Continue reading

Formula DRIFT Round 6: Showdown Results; Rookie Masashi Yokoi is Victorious
Long Beach, Calif. August 23, 2015 Formula DRIFT presented by GoPro returned to Texas Motor Speedway for Round 6: Showdown. Japanese rookie Masashi Yokoi in the D-MAX Nissan S15 earns his first Formula DRIFT victory. The championship will be determined at the Series finale on October 10.
Round 6: Showdown was an action packed event weekend. The new course configuration at Texas Motor Speedway proved to be challenging and highly competitive for the drivers. With only one event remaining in the 2015 season a champion will be crowned at the season finale at Irwindale Speedway.
Texas has some of the most diehard fans as they braved the heat to see the action through the weekend and were rewarded with intense drifting action, said Jim Liaw, President of Formula DRIFT.
