O’Sullivan Looks Towards 2012 Following Irwindale Exit
October 17, 2011 (Howell, NJ) Irish drifting champion Eric O’Sullivan has vowed to return to 2012 Formula Drift competition with renewed ambition following an unexpexcted early exit from the season finale at Toyota Speedway Irwindale, California.
Following damage sustained to the Gardella Racing Mobil 1 Pontiac Solstice during the first qualification session, O’Sullivans efforts during his remaining pass of the course failed to reach the mark required for passage into the main competition on Saturday October 8th.
Greatly dissapppointed with the result, O’Sullivan was confined to spectating at the sell out finale and reflect on what was a challenging year for the 2009 Formula Drift rookie of the year.
“Irwindale Speedway will test every aspect of a car and driver,” explained O’Sullivan. “Unless you’re 100% comfortable and committed to the course, and with such an unbelievably strong grid of drivers, you can’t just expect to make the grade. Today we fell short and the result is not a fair reflection of the efforts that we put in as a team during 2011.”

Ryan Tuerck Vegas Formula D 2011 – YAER Productions (Video)
First off I’d like to say how much of a pleasure it is to work with Ryan Tuerck and the Gardella Racing team… they are a professional, talented and dedicated group of guys.
Here is a link to their site – gardellaracing.com/
Second, the inspiration for this video came from a music video I recently saw online from the artist Sapient. He is a local musician from the Portland area were I live, and I have been bumping his stuff for years since his days in the group Sandpeople.
You should check out his facebook for songs and updates on his tour @ facebook.com/Sapientkills
Lastly, for this video I wanted to try a few new things… I wanted to use only one lens for the main section, and that being a 50mm f1.2 at 1.2. I also wanted to get yet another style of video for Tuerck. The last one we did at the Seattle FD stop was more on the comical side (vimeo.com/28039775), so we decided to flip the Vegas one a different direction.
I want to continue to try and find ways to show other sides of these drivers than we are all used to. It’s hard for me to follow a driver through a series if I know little about him/her. So my goal was to show how real life a person like Ryan Tuerck is, and how good he is at swinging a beast around like that Camero(which I got a ride in and will never forget).
That said, hope you enjoy the work.

Team Need For Speed Completes European Drift Tour With A 1st And 2nd Place Finish
STOCKHOLM, Sweden. (September 15, 2011) – The last two weekends have been nothing short of awesome for Team Need for Speed, as drifting legends Fredric Aasbo and Darren McNamara made quite an impact on the European drift scene. Fredric, piloting his Team NFS Japan Auto Supra, and Darren, dropping jaws with the D-Mac86, spent their time off between US Formula Drift rounds to compete in a few prestigious European drift events.
“Having started my career in Ireland and the UK, it was really exciting for me to be able to return and compete against old friends and some new ones,” says Darren. “All the anticipation and pressure of building a new car online and being able to be competitive from the get-go was a real test for the team at MCNSPORT.”
“After I first caught the drifting bug watching Japanese videos, the UK and Irish scene was what really fueled my hunger to start drifting myself,” noted Fredric. “The Prodrift Ireland and various UK competitions and battles have since then been a big inspiration and benchmark for me, and finally being able to get to compete at the very heart of European drifting, has brought it all full circle.”
