July 21, 2013 Round 5: Throwdown at Evergreen Speedway Results; Chris Forsberg Takes the Victory Long Beach, Calif. July 21, 2013 Formula DRIFT presented by GoPro returned to the Pacific Northwest to a sold out crowd. Chris Forsberg in the NOS Energy Drink / Hankook Tire Nissan 370Z takes the victory and the championship points lead. The fans came out in droves for Round 5: Throwdown at Evergreen Speedway and for the second year in a row the event was held in front of a sell-out crowd.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. wins second consecutive Formula Drift, takes Championship points lead
BALTIMORE, Md. (July 23, 2012) – Vaughn Gittin Jr. and the Monster Energy Falken Tire 2013 Ford Mustang RTR came to Formula Drift Round 5 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington with hopes of another podium finish just as he had done at the previous round in Wall, New Jersey. Not only did Vaughn achieve this goal, but he took the top spot (again) upon the podium and also gained crucial points by qualifying first, allowing him to surge into the 1st place position overall in the Formula Drift Championship standings.
FD Rd 5 Qualifying – Seattle bringing rain
Going to sleep Thursday night I don’t think anyone expected rain. I’m sure most people woke up Friday morning to a wet and rainy surprise, but by the time I got to the track it finally stopped raining. Most people took it easy except Daigo Saito, he went all out as usual.
The track layout was a little different this year. With more room to come off the evergreen 5/8ths bank and a different clipping points down the power alley which was really
