Get some insight from the interview with driver Daijiro Yoshihara about his new race machine and this year’s challenging Formula Drift Season. “I knew that Superstreet was going to write something about the new car for the season which was really great but wow a cover, that is really awesome, “ said Daijiro Yoshihara. “I hope to take this and the momentum built from the last event into this weekend’s race and continue strong the rest of the season.”

Team Falken Stands in 5th Place with Justin Pawlak in Formula D Championship

BRASELTON, GA – Team Falken, a two-time manufacturer’s champion in Formula Drift, keeps applying pressure to its competition, and after Round 2 at Road Atlanta, has Falken team member Justin Pawlak in 5th place overall.

Though eventual event winner Vaughn Gittin, Jr., defeated Pawlak in the Top 16 Round, the match between the two was deemed the “battle of the weekend” as the drivers went through two hard-fought “One More Time” rounds just as rain blanketed the track.

Long Beach, Calif. – March 4, 2014- – Formula DRIFT has announced the return of all 4 Major Tire Partners; Achilles, Falken, Hankook and Nitto and returning Tire Suppliers; Kenda, Maxxis and Yokohama. In addition, GT Radial signs on as a new Tire Supplier for the 2014 season.

Formula DRIFT continues to be the proving grounds for tire manufacturers. The extreme conditions created through competitive drifting pushes the limits of the drivers, cars and the tires creating the ultimate performance test for the brands. Current returning tire partners include: Falken Tire (11th season), Hankook Tire (current tire manufacturer champion, 8th season), Nitto Tire (9th season), Achilles (3rd season), Yokohama (3rd season), Maxxis Tire (3rd season) and Kenda (5th season).

Vaughn Gittin Jr. Formula Drift #3 Palm Beach (Video)

Vaughn Gittin Jr. brings his Monster Energy Falken Ford Mustang RTR to Palm Beach International Raceway for the 3rd stop of the 2012 Formula Drift series. South Florida does not disappoint, from the white sand beaches to the prime pavement, Vaughn qualifies first leading into a solid battle with teammate Justin Pawlak.

Team Falken Achieves Second Three-Peat in a Row at Formula Drift Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA – Team Falken continued its dominating stance in both the 2012 Formula Drift Championship and at the series event at Road Atlanta, where Justin Pawlak, winner of the first event of the year at last month’s Long Beach street course, took the victory over Fredric Aasbo.  It was Falken’s third consecutive Formula D win at the Atlanta track.

Driving the 2013 Falken Tire Ford Mustang, Pawlak has now notched the first two wins and leads the Formula D championship rankings by commanding margin.  The number of entrants competing in the popular drift series has grown significantly with 48 drivers fighting for a chance to compete in the top 32 tandem round.  Falken teammate Vaughn Gittin, Jr., qualified second; Pawlak eighth; while the remaining Falken team members sat in 9th (Daijiro Yoshihara); 21st (Falken privateer Walker Wilkerson); and 31st (Darren McNamara, who debuted his new Falken Tire 350Z).
